Barrel Information Page...

Here you will find commonly asked questions and shipping information about the Barrels we sell.  Drop us a line if you have any further comments - we appreciate your input!

"What can I expect in shipping?"

This barrel has to ship separately from all other items.  It is one of the only obstacles that is cheaper to ship by Post office. Because of its size, you might get a note in your mailbox to pick up the barrel at your local post office, but they usually deliver them.

Because of the new shipping regulations (effective May 2007) the prices have gone up a little - it will cost approximately in the range of $20-$38 (rough estimate), depending on how far you are from N.Y.  If you'd like an exact quote before ordering, feel free to call or email us.  If you are ordering from any non-domestic states (AK, HA...), or from Canada or another country - you must get a special shipping quote from us.  If you need a quote, please email us your address, or call 1-800-254-9441. (please include city, state, and postal code).

"How does the chute attach to the barrel?"

Our chutes have a buckle strap, which tightens on the back end of the barrel. There is  a "lip" on the barrel's exit end for the chute to grip onto.

"Is the barrel clean?"

These are reconditioned barrels, so they might have a few minor cosmetic imperfections or scratches.  While they are initially clean, they come shipped without a box, so they might come a little dirty.  But they clean up easily.

"How do I keep it from rolling?"

To prevent the barrel from rolling side to side, we recommend our "Box-Brace", which is a simple pipe-square that slips over the end of the barrel.  Two can be used for double the stability.
It also prevents the barrel from sagging
(losing its round shape) at the front entrance, which it might do, especially if it sits for awhile and is not rotated.

"How easy is it to apply the strips?"

Very easy.  Just lay the strips out first, alternating the thick and thin strips.  Take off the tape and stick them on.  We include a simple chart to help you visualize the end result.

DECORATING IDEAS: Did you know you can decorate your barrel?  Here are some ideas:

  • Get vinyl lettering (like what is used on boats) and put your dog's name on it.

  • Stencil pictures or words using Krylon spray paint designed for plastic.

  • Put horizontal or vertical stripes on the barrel, using colored duct or vinyl tape.
