Aluminum Teeter
Plank...
Here you will find commonly asked questions and shipping
information for our Aluminum Teeter Plank. Drop us a line if you have any
ideas, we'd love to hear from you!
"What
can I expect in shipping?"
This 12' plank must be shipped by freight. It it is
suggested that you order other items to make it more cost effective. There is a minimum freight charge starting
at about $80 [depending on your state] and extra items do not add much of an
increase. The other heavy items we carry is the A-frame, Contact Trainer, Pause
Table, etc. If you want to know what the freight will be for the
plank by itself (or with other items) please call us at 1-800-254-9441 M-F
8am-5pm to give you a quote. Or send an email, and include your city,
state, and postal code.
"How fast can
I receive it?"
Approximately 2 weeks (possibly quicker if
needed). After you place the order, we will call you to let you know what
the exact freight cost will be, and to verify a few other things before sending
it..
"How heavy is
it?"
Approximately 40 lbs.
"Can I fit
it to my own base?"
The plank has holes pre-drilled for attaching to our steel
adjustable seesaw base. You could, we suppose, re-drill it to fit a
different base, but there's no guarantee it would work. You might want to
check with us first as how it might work or not work with your base. We
also have a close-up picture of the underside if you need it.
No hardware comes
with the plank - all the hardware you need is included with the seesaw Base.
"How will it
come?"
It will come complete (fully painted and traction treated). The plank will come
full-length, wrapped up in foam/cardboard/and shrink wrap. We suggest that
you inspect the package when it is delivered. Look for any dents or tears
in the cardboard. If the driver will wait, remove the packaging and check
it. Once you sign for it, the freighting company pretty much considers it a done
deal.
"What else
should I know?"
The uniqueness of your Plank:
You can expect slight
imperfections and defects to your plank. Each one is handcrafted and each
will have individual characteristics. As plywood is made up of multiple layers,
you can expect that there may be voids and small splits that either will already
be in the grain, or will develop over time. These are to be expected and they
will not deter from the functionality of the obstacle. They will not go all the
way through the wood.
Maintenance:
Wood naturally shrinks and expands with the weather, so it is best if you
periodically paint the top (and bottom) to prolong its life. Use an exterior
paint, preferably oil-based. Use a flat or a semi-gloss. Voids (on the edges)
and cracks in the wood are also a natural occurrence and cannot be avoided. But
if you will be keeping your plank outside, you can fill these voids in the
wood with wood putty and then paint over them. This will prolong its life.
