Poles...
General Description: Of all the
obstacles, the Weave Poles are probably the most fun to watch. But they
are also the most challenging for your dog to learn. Agility trainers
always recommend having your own set at home. Consistent practice with
your dog is the key to success, but also making your practice sessions short and
ending on a positive note. Dogs often end up loving the weave poles, which
of course is your goal! In the beginning levels of agility 6 poles are
used, but in the more advanced levels you will most often encounter 12
poles.
 When
training the Weaves, some common
call words to use are: Weave, Poles,
Wiggle, Snake. (more
call names)

Practice (Training) Weave Sets:
Practice Weaves with
Fixed Poles
Our recommended basic set for beginners, who don't need a
Competition-Quality set. It is portable and can be used indoors or
out. It can also be used in the popular 2x2 training method.
Practice Weaves with
Slanted Poles
A similar set to above, but the poles are flexible for slanting
("weave-a-matic" style). If you have a large or rambunctious
dog, however, we recommend the above set more.
Channel
Weave Set
A training method that has gained recent popularity.
It is similar in concept to the method above, providing your dog an adjustable
"channel" to weave down. It is a little more complicated (in the
pieces/assembly) but is better for training larger and faster dogs than the
above set.
Teacup Six Pole Fixed Weaves
The basic weave pole set for small dogs is great for beginners and advanced practice, and shorter poles make this easy! It is portable and can be used indoors or out. It can also be used in the popular 2x2 training method.
Teacup Six pole Slanting Weave Poles
A similar set to above for mini dog agility, but the shortened poles are flexible for slanting ("weave-a-matic" style).
